MARILYN BERRETT

Marilyn Berrett, MA-Brigham Young University, BFA-University of Utah, began her lifelong passion for creative dance as a child under the tutelage of Virginia Tanner. In her 40-year BYU-career, Berrett artistically directed three dance companies, choreographed dance works for stage and film, and founded BYU KINNECT, an education outreach company presenting dance to 16,000 students annually. Berrett’s international work includes teaching, performing, choreographing, and presenting in over 30 countries including, China, India, and South Africa. She served as BYU Dance Chair from 2010-2017 and in various daCi -USA, and daCi board roles from 2004-2017. She is Artistic Co-director of BYU Kinnect 2018.

HEATHER FRANCIS

Heather Francis, MA Candidate in Teaching Artistry at Wayne State University, is the director of the Arts Bridge Program and a research faculty in the Brigham Young University’s ARTS Partnership. Before working at BYU, she directed the dance program and developed a dance integrated math program at a Title I junior high school in Salt Lake City. She currently serves as the Publicity & Advocacy Director for the Utah Dance Education Organization and the chair of the daCi Utah Board as well as a Member at Large on the daCi USA National Board. She is a BYU Kinnect alumni, and recently accepted the invitation to Artistically Co-direct BYU Kinnect 2018.
